Eswatini Trip

The Poe’s had prepared a retreat for our National and regional leaders using the CBS retreat “The Way of the Shepherd”. They loved every minute! The middle photo was taken at the completion of Friday night. Dumsani encouraged the leaders and explained “Seed for seed” where the classes in Africa collect donations to feed back into the ministry there. Our goal is to help the classes sustain themselves as much as possible. The photo on the right is Hannah talking about the characteristics of sheep and shepherds. I thank God for the encouragement the leaders received, and the unity of the Spirit.
Saturday, the Children and Youth leaders broke off and did a refresher training for 48 leaders. One of the leaders had to bring her 10-year-old daughter. We were shocked as she was a super star! She completed her lesson long before the adults and was one of the leaders who wanted to do a demonstration teaching, and she did a great job! I thank God for the team work of the area coordinators, and the enthusiasm of the participants.
Sunday, we went to the church for the Deaf. Our hosts were Mick and Cathy Sanders from Comfort for Africa. That afternoon we took two Deaf pastors to lunch and presented Community Bible Study to them. We praise God as they have already scheduled a training for the next month.
Monday was a day of preparation, administration, and rest for the Poe’s and I. Tuesday, we went to two Deaf schools, one primary and one high school and vision casted CBS. It is hopeful they will be trained on a future trip. Pastor Anthony was able to schedule and appointment with Chip to look at his knee. Please pray for healing in his knee as it is very difficult for him to walk. The children were precious! Thank you all for your prayers.
Wednesday, we traveled South almost 3 hours with Scott and the Poe’s. At 10 am we hosted a training in a church with no windows, electricity or water. While the training went on, Scott, Greg, Dumsani (our National Coordinator) and other men went to deliver three food parcels to home bound people. The screen that they hung, and without electricity they had a very, very long extension cord that went to Annah’s house. I thank God for those who attended, and the unity and servant leadership of our leaders.
Thursday, Judy had the privilege of touring a children’s home for 437 children. They have over 6000 hens that lay 5000 plus eggs daily. Last year they were able to feed the kids, as well as donate 1.5 million eggs to over 30 churches in country. They go through 480 liters of milk a day. Some of the house supervisors study the bible with CBS, and now we vision casted for the children. Judy presented CBS Children and youth again. I believe this new Spiritual Director and new campus pastor looked on the materials this time with more excitement. Pray alongside Judy God’s will in this and favor please.
We are so excited to be participating with God as He continues to work in Eswatini.
